Proud Consignor

My internet on my laptop has been down for days so it's been pretty boring.  This kept me from getting creative and browsing Pinterest for more ideas!  Yes, I am an idea stealer from time to time.  It's the creative side that helps me tweek them!!

In the last few days, however, I decided to clean out some of my old décor and do some sprucing up. Since doing this, I was able to consign some of my things in the attic to purchase a few more NEW items to fill the empty spaces.  I raided the paint cabinet to see what I'd find and get my creative juices flowing.

My guest room is always a work in progress.  When someone comes to my home, not only do I want them to feel welcome, but I want the space to be clean and decorated as well.  Oh, I mean OCD!!  There are a few areas of that room that still need some attention.  So, I thought I'd add some uniqueness by adding a space where they can hang their towel, robe...etc!

I started with an old frame I found that was not being used.  The original color was not of my taste, so I took the back off and the glass out.  When I raided the paint cabinet, I found the left over paint I used on a wicker chair I had professionally mixed to match the pillows and curtains.  I used a sponge brush to lightly coat the frame with such paint. My next question was...what have I pinned that would help me with this situation?  That's when I remembered I had this idea before, but never followed through.  Just frame a knob!!  Sounds funny but I did it and it turned out maaaarvelous.  See for yourself:

Word to the wise decorator - it's all in the lighting.  Remember that when picking out paint.  These were taken at different times of the day.  Notice how one looks taupe and one looks gray?

Here is a picture of the bedding/bedroom work in progress itself.  The furniture was a steal too.  That's a Broyhill dresser I got for 10 whole bucks and the bed came from Craigslist.  It was an old 90's style trimmed in Oak.  Yes, I am a proud consignor!  There's nothing wrong with it and you too can make a welcoming bedroom for next to nothing.  These two pieces were painted with the famous chalk paint that everyone raves about these days!  If you get a chance, you too should consign and try painting a few pieces.  You'll never know how much fun it is until you try it.
